Women’s Playwright Collective and Staten Island Shakespearean Theatre Company Presents:

9th Not Forgotten Play Festival

Women’s Playwrights Collective continues its mission to create and produce new works by female-identifying playwrights for the Staten Island community. The festival features two, longer one-act plays (presented on alternate days) written by last year’s festival winners, and six 10-miute plays presented by this year’s collective.

As a bonus, audience members have the chance to have a hand in molding WPC’s 2027 season by choosing a piece at the Festival to be fully fleshed out next year.

Three years after the death of her mother, Jules feels trapped in all aspects of her life. She finds that obtaining her driver’s license and a car has not given her the freedom that she expected, as she seems to drive through a tunnel with no end in sight. Her rising anxiety and grief cause her to push away everyone who tries to help, but some ties are not so easy to break.

Back after her probation for overdoing, doing good, Misty, squirrel scout extraordinaire, is desperate for her former childhood friends to remain a unit. That is, until the rapture happens and Gretchen is the chosen one. Damming her and her troupe to burn in the fiery pits of puberty’s past, the girls must re-navigate the hell they just survived: middle school.
